What does a 26-year-old pro golfer who just won his first PGA Tour event and US$720,000 do immediately following his victory? If youre Nick Taylor, you do your laundry.Taylor overcame a four-shot deficit Sunday to capture his maiden PGA Tour victory in just his 13th start on golfs top circuit. He shot 6-under-par 66 in his fianl round — despite a three-putt bogey on the 72nd hole — for a two-shot victory over Americans Boo Weekley and Jason Bohn. After the win, he and fellow Canadian and longtime roommate Adam Hadwin, along with their caddies, went for dinner to celebrate. But right after, Taylor was back cleaning and packing his clothes. He was in bed by 10 p.m.I was wiped out, he said during a conference call with reporters Monday. I was in bed reflecting and trying to respond back to as many people as possible. There was an outpouring of well wishes on Twitter as Nick Taylor was trending across Canada for nearly an hour after his win.The native of Abbotsford, B.C., has had quite the year already, but this win was the icing on the cake.He got married in May and he missed six straight cuts on the Web.com Tour in the summer. Then he shot the best final round of his life in September at the Web.com Tour Championship to snatch up PGA Tour status for 2014-15.I called my wife and shes in tears, Taylor said after his win on Sunday. She doesnt know whats going on. I dont really know whats going on either.Aside from the big payday, Taylor earned an exemption into The Players Championship and the PGA Championship. Most importantly for Taylor, though, was earning a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour. Now that I can actually pick my schedule, thats the biggest thing that will sink in, he said. I want to play every event because its my first season. Youll have to get a leash on me so then I dont wear myself out. With the win, Taylor became the first Canadian winner on the PGA Tour since Stephen Ames, a native of Trinidad and Tobago who is now a Canadian citizen living in Calgary. He captured the Childrens Miracle Network Classic November 15, 2009 — nearly five years to the day prior to Taylors win Sunday.Taylor was tipped as Canadas next big thing in golf after wins at the Canadian Junior and Canadian Amateur Championships. He spent 21 weeks as the worlds no.1-ranked amateur, but then toiled on the Canadian Tour — now PGA Tour Canada — and the Web.com Tour for the last five years. You could have picked me out of a pile of great players, and I was lucky enough to break through, he said.Taylor and Hadwin grew up playing junior and amateur golf together and got their starts on the Vancouver Golf Tour, the brainchild of Fraser Mulholland. Were very proud theyve come across our Tour and used it to learn how to win, said Mulholland. Last Spring, [Taylor] played in 11 of our events prior to the PGA Tour Canada season, and he won eight of them. I was not surprised for him to get to the PGA Tour, and I wouldnt be surprised to see him win again.Scott Simmons, the CEO of Golf Canada, was also excited for Taylor. Taylor was a member of Golf Canadas national team from 2008 to 2010, and Simmons said he is at the very front of the player development process it is trying to instil across the country. No system can make up for someone who doesnt have the internal DNA, said Simmons. But if you take that kind of DNA and surround it with the support system we now have in Canada, I think its a recipe for success.A Canadian-born golfer hadnt raised a PGA Trophy since Mike Weir in 2007.Industry pundits thought one of the more experienced players would end Canadas winless drought. But it was Taylor. He admitted it was good news for golf in Canada.Im proud and lucky I was the first one to win, but I have no doubt in my mind that I wont be the last, even this season, Taylor said. Its looking bright for Canadian golf, thats for sure. And maybe one day, hell have someone else do his laundry. Authentic NBA Jerseys . ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos coach John Fox returned to work Monday, four weeks after open-heart surgery, his newfound energy matching his renowned enthusiasm. "I feel tremendous. As my surgeon said, I had a valve that was the size of a pinhead and now its the size of a 50-cent piece," Fox said. "Obviously, the doctors feel good about me getting back to work. I actually would have preferred to be back sooner, but there was a pretty hard deadline of four weeks post-surgery and I honoured that and here I am." Truth is, Fox has been telecommuting for weeks. As soon as he was released from the hospital after having his aortic valve repaired, a surgery he had hoped to put off until after the Super Bowl, Fox set up a sort of command centre at his off-season home in Charlotte, N.C., some 200 yards from the spot on the golf course where he fell ill on Nov. 2 during the Broncos bye. Not only was he in daily contact with defensive co-ordinator Jack Del Rio, who guided the Broncos (10-2) to three wins in four games during in his absence, but Fox was also in constant communication with his captains, including quarterback Peyton Manning, over the toughest stretch of Denvers season. Fox was able to keep track of his team on his big-screen TV on game days and on his iPad play book, watching cut-ups of practices and helping to formulate game plans. "Other than that I was in another state, (it was) much the same as what I would have done in my office at Dove Valley," Fox said. "I want to be careful how I say that. I was involved, just like everybody in this building is involved. Like I said, its not one guy. Its a team. And its a lot of people doing their job. As I mentioned before, its a tribute to the staff and the players that did a tremendous job as I went on the longest bye week in history." Del Rio maintained his defensive play-calling duties while he was interim head coach and he allowed offensive co-ordinator Adam Gase to continue calling plays for Manning & Co. Fox admitted there were times he cringed at the play-calling while waatching the games on TV.dddddddddddd "In fairness, a couple times," he said, chuckling. "But Im sure a lot of people do the same thing when Im doing that. Its just part of the game." Fox and his wife, Robin, flew home on team owner Pat Bowlens jet on Wednesday and at Del Rios suggestion he visited with the team on Thanksgiving morning, then watched from his home in Denver as the Broncos beat the Chiefs 35-28 Sunday at Kansas City to take charge of the AFC West. Executive Vice-President John Elway presented Del Rio with a game ball afterward. "It was special to have John Elway recognize the things I did," Del Rio said, "but I basically want to say that is just a representation of what we all did. It wasnt about me; it was a collective effort of all the players, coaches, trainers, equipment guys that had to pull together in Coach Foxs absence." On Monday, Fox drove into work and was greeted by hugs and handshakes. Players said he flashed that famous smile all day long. "I had open-heart surgery and watching those games was harder than any pain I felt during that rehab," Fox said. "He stood up there in front of us in the team meeting and told us he feels better than ever," tight end Joel Dreessen said. Fox said he lost 10 pounds, and "Im actually in better shape now than I was a month ago." He said he has no restrictions, but isnt going to push it, either. "Yeah. Im going to be smart," he said. "If all of a sudden I cant hold my eyes open, Im going to go home. Like I said, the last three weeks, Ive been operating pretty much like I did the first eight games of the season. Its not like Im moving furniture or doing roofs. I sit somewhere and watch football." Hes not sure yet whether hell coach from the booth or the sideline Sunday when the Broncos host Tennessee (5-7). "Im going to see how I feel. I havent been to a practice yet. But it wont make a big difference. Im in communication with everybody whether theyre in the press box or on the field," Fox said. ' ' '
